She is two years old and she gets this really bad odor often. I have to bathe her once a week because of it. It usually takes just a couple of days for the odor to return. Sometimes it is so bad that I just can't stand to be near her. Especially, when she gets this really bad funky odor. The really funky bad smell only occurs rarely though. What could be causing this? She has been spayed. She is an indoor dog...only goes outside to potty and play with the kids for a short while. Any help is appreciated.

Take her in for a vet exam. It could be her anal glands, her ears or her teeth or a combination there of. Also what are you feeding her? Foods can cause an odor on dogs if the dog is allergic to them.
Steer away from foods that contain corn, wheat, soy, beet pulp, chemical preservatives, dyes, by products.

Check her ears. She may have an ear infection. That can cause a really bad odor. If the smell is coming from her ears take her to the vet for treatment.

You need to take her to the vet or to a dog groomer to have her anal glad squeezed. Yes this sounds painful, but for a dog it is relieving some dogs get this yellowish liquid in there anal gland and the vet or dog groomer has to relieve it. If you have a strong stomach you could ask your doctor to show you how to do it yourself and that would save you some money. I can't stand to do it to my dog, but she needs it often. If you don't get the gland drained it could cause infection or even more serious problems.
