I know the best hair straightner! About 6 people have bought it after using mine and it's only $40.00. It is called Jilbere, or something along those lines. (maybe Jillbere). It can be found at sally beauty supply, and it lasts well over a yr.

I used to buy those 40 straightners but after about 6 months of use they stopped getting hot enough or just broke all together.....if you want a decent straightner that will last you buy a chi they are expensive but ive had mine for 3 years and if anything happens they will fix it..in the long run youll save more money because you will need to constantly replace the other one.

to get a really good one you will have to pay more than 40 dollars because the ceramic ones cost more than that ( and they are better!) i say if you want to straighten often save up for a ceramic straightener because it wont damage your hair and the end result is so much better!

i take it you are black?
if so i used bantu, precise, and optimum... of the three i like optimum the most...use their shampoo and conditionare as well... also after your perm... spray your hair with setting/wrap lotion... and wrap it up in like a behive style.. tie it up and let it dry like this...(air-dry or sit under the dryer until it ALL dry) sray sheen on it and comeb out... u may need to run a curling iron over your hair to add a little bump and body to your wrap style...
