You'll never really know whats best for you until you actually get on it. For me, it took over a year to get mine straight, it depends on your body and how it reacts with the medication. I take Effexor XR for depression, Klonopin for anxiety, and Seroquel to sleep. I was taking Ambien for sleeping, but after a long time on some meds your body no longer responds. This might be a lifelong process. I'm sure it will be for me, with tweaking meds and doses here and there. Consider that I've been on 8 different allergy medications since I was 14, of course now, at 22 I've almost grown out of my allergies, but the point remains. Just be aware that this is a process, and that eventually something should work for you.

The best med for depression is Zoloft.
The best anti-anxiety med is Xanax.
Any meds that affect the mind, the brain, should only be prescribed by a psychiatrist.
Your nearest hospital should have a physician referral service. You might want to consider starting there first. Or check with your family doctor, if you have one.
I urge you to seek professional help as soon as possible. If left untreated, you may feel worse in the future.

I know how bad this problem is because I suffer from the same things. After trying many meds. my doctor has put me on Wellbutrin. That has helped me more than any of the others. It is also good for obsessive compulsive disorder. Talk to your doctor about it, it may be the one that will help. Good luck and God bless. Hope you get help soon.

Ativan is another anti-anxiety drug. But it, like Xanax, is addictive and most docs don't like to prescribe it. You may need to take something else all the time. Best bet is to see a pychiatrist.
