Orgasms are not the same for most women, and I find myself wondering , due to the discriptions here, how old most of the answerers are!!
And in addition...there are also more than one type of orgasm!
There are in fact, 3 kinds.
Clitoral, Uterine, and G-spot.
They are all somewhat alike, but there will always be a distinct difference between them.
The uterus contracts, as does the vaginal or "birth" canal during all of them. (unless due to medical surgery, you don't have a uterus)
A uterine orgasm may happen during sexual intercourse, with no clitoral contact...(most women will never have this) and is usually related to the g-spot being stimulated
A clitoral orgasm can happen during intercourse while the clitoris is being stimulated...OR.... with external only contact of the clitoris.
A G-spot orgasm is strictly internal, and occurs when a specific area of bundled nerves is stimulated , usually bringing about a sudden gush or squirt of fluid.
With all 3.....the simplest way to describe when its happening is to say that during arrousal, the feeling or desire slowly builds up and then crests, cresting meaning to peak...(where it can't possibly feel any better), and then a contracting of muscles begins (ejaculation), as if to expel a fluid ( much like a man) but for most women it isn't of much amount......(wooo-hoo to the lucky few!)
All this is followed by a rush of relief....( or release)...for lack of a better word.... and then a sense of fulfilment and relaxation. Of course, breathing will vary during each phase of arrousal, as also will eye dilation and other parts of the central nervous system...
Some womens orgasms will differ at times or with different partners, but we should just be happy to know we've had one! As for me, it never mattered whether I was having intercourse, or masturbating, they may be light, or intense.....I don't think it is any different feeling...it just depends on how quick you get there, or how patient you are as to how strong it can be....and lets not forget that all sex is better if we use our imaginations...

all the answers above are correct. Sometimes your whole body just contracts and you fell like your in heaven. When you get one trust me you'll know. the orgasms you get when you masturbate are not the same as when you have sex.

it is a very strong tingly feeling that is localized in your genital area and then you feel it around your entire body. its not something you will miss.

well if you masturbated and it felt like tingly in there and it felt like your vagina was contracting. you know the muscle in there felt like kind of twitching and you started breathing weird.
