We have a 1 month old baby girl, and a 2 1/2 year old boy. We live in a 2 bedroom house, with a sunroom-type room on the back.

When should we move the baby from our room to her brothers room? I don't want her to disturb his night... when he was 6 months + we started letting him cry it out at night, I would do the same with the baby but don't want to bother our son.

Also, how long is it acceptable for opposite sex children to share a room? We can't afford to move right away.

What are your opinions?

well my boys share a room....1 1/2 and a 2 1/2 yr old....and when one cried...rarely does it bother the other!!!!!especially in the middle of the night. I think they can share a room, until....atleast 6. When they start trying to figure out one anothers parts, boys and his friends start noticing things, you need to move them!!! You shoudl be good for a few years thoguh!

I had the same problem. I moved my daughter into my sons room as soon as she was regularly sleeping through the night about 8 months. I have had to seperate them recently due to my son wanting some privacy he is about to turn 7. But they worked out well sharing until then.

You don't need to move the baby to the other child's room until he is 3 years old at least. And i think it's ok for opp-sex kids to share a room until they are at least 7.

I think its acceptable until their seven unless one of them shows they are uncomfortable, and I don't mean the regular "girls/guys are icky" or "but shes soo little! I can have my baby sister in MY room, everyone will make fun of me!" uncomfortable, but like the squirmy uncomfortable.
