Besides meeting and dating them in person for a while. I would ask people in real life what they thought about that person and your intentions with them. The internet is a great means of communications, but should not be someone's only way of deciding things in life.

Talk to them on the phone. I met my husband online and our first conversation was 6 hours long! He came to visit a few months later and long story short, we got married a few months after that...and that was 6 years ago.
Do be careful though. If you do end up meeting have an "escape" plan and make sure you go with friends or that your friends know where you are.
Meeting people on the internet helps you weed out a lot of people you would be wasting your time with. Talking to someone on the phone let's you concentrate just on that person. You don't have to wait two hours while watching a movie, or having dinner. It's just you and that person.

i wouldnt meet someone online too riskey you dont really know who that person is and these AVATARS dont really look like most people so dont go by them
