The job of an aunt or uncle is to be (if they are older) another trusted adult a child can turn to. Being available to be a confidant or resource is the best gift you can give them.

The other best thing an aunt or uncle can give a child is their time. Some of my best memories of my aunt are the times she baked cookies with us at her house.

Simple activities will build a bond with them.
Take them out to interesting places-kite flying in a park or have water balloon fights. But play down spending a lot of money or they will see you as mostly as a gift horse. This will undermine your relationship. You don't have to buy a child's regard or love. Don't fall into that trap.

Truthfully, most children have too many possessions anyway. They don't need more stuff. They need solid relationships.

lear to say no. also dont give one something for their birthday and think u have to give another a gift too. such as on the twins 10th birthday, dont buy the 5 and 1 year old a small gift to make them feel good. (some ppl actually do that YIKES!)

loving is not spoiling. spoiling is giving them stuff they
don't need, food that isn't good for them or letting them
have their way.
a loving aunt is a blessing for any kid so keep on loving
them and being there for them. abide by their parents
rules and save presents for very special times.

It's very probably that YOU can't spoil them. Only parents can do that damage.
