All you have to do is live a healthy lifestyle while you are carrying the baby especially the first 3 months, Because these are the most crucial times in the baby's development stage! Therafter keep up with the healthy lifestyle. By the time you are 7 months pregnant let your husband or boyfriend help you with your chores let him also massage your back aswell as your feet! Believe me it gets sore! I did it for my wife and she was ever gratefull for those soothing massages. Try jogging during the course of your pregnancy but only untill about 8 months thereafter take it easy as you might develop cramps and all sorts of pains that you don't want to have! But further more you will be feeling much better and look better after delivary. After delivering the baby keep on eating healthy and living a health lifestyle! Then you should not have any problems!

Your age will not determine any mental issues with the baby. How you take care of yourself while you are pregnant will. Take your pre-natal pills and the DHA pills and stay away from drugs and alcohol and the baby should be fine. Genetic defects happen no matter what your age, to help prevent them, do what your doctor tells you. If you are not on DHA pills then get them at Walmart. They help with brain development while you are pregnant. They are good for children too and that is why formula now comes with DHA in it.

Because you are young, your baby will likely have a much better chance of being healthy, etc. There is a recent study out, too, that found that being born before your mother is 25 helps your chances of living to 100 (growing up on a farm, and other things added to it). Your baby will likely be better off because you are young.

Not if you go for your regular checkups. Just do everything to take care of yourself. Eat right, drink water, take your vitamins. There are risks because your body is still growing as well, but all-in-all, you should be ok. With the way medicine is today, if something is wrong, they will find it in time for you to have a healthy baby.

You being young has nothing to do with the baby coming out deformed or retarded. As long as you are living a healthy life - which means no smoking, drinking, drugs, etc your baby has a better chance of being healthy. If you have concerns you should talk to your doctor.

17 isn't young enough for there to be a higher risk of birth defects. If you were closer to 15 or younger, or over 40 there is a higher risk. Ask you're ob-gyn any questions you may have, pre-natal care can make all the difference.

There can always be problems with the baby. It can happen. To make it less likely don't do drugs or drink alcohol. Eat healthy and see the doctor regularly while you are pregnant. I hope your baby is ok but there is no guarantee at any age.

Physically, your baby should be very healthy so long as long as you get your prenatal care and there aren't birth defects that already run in your family.
There are good reasons emotionally and financially why it is better to wait, but once you are DONE growing, a women in their late teens and 20s have healthier babies than older moms, statistically.
Relax and enjoy your baby.

I am 18 and 7 months pregnant. I think that the reason most doctors say that teens are "high risk" is because usually teens don't eat as well as adults. Just make sure you are eating healthy and taking your vitamins, and everything should be ok.
Good Luck and Congratulations!

Just make sure you have a healthy pregnancy. Your baby wont have problems because youre young (which you cant help) but it will have problems if you skip check ups, drink, smoke, don't eat right, skip taking your vitamins... etc (stuff you can help).
