Is there a way of looking at a canadian goose on a lake and seeing if it is male or female? Do the mate for life like swans?

ok goose, gander I got the name wrong you know what i ment but tried to be clever and correct me as you did not know the answer.
Ducks as in Malards dont mate for life. if you round any lake the hen is always alone with her chics unlike Coot and Geese Who appear to be more family orientated. Men can be similar to Drakes love her and leave her up the duff and let your mates have a go as well. Thanks not Mating for life!

The females are a little larger and rounder in shape, the males are a little smaller and more streamlined. So it helps if there are several in the same area to get an idea, but its easier to see the difference when they are on land.

The male will have more predominate colors, the females one plain color and Yes they do mate for life and ducks do also and if the mate dies they are very dis trout. Unlike humans.

With Canada geese, females tend to have shorter, curved necks......males have longer necks, more vertical/upright, but curved......I noticed this difference through casual observation of Canada geese.......These geese also appear to mate for life....... :-)

They do mate for life, but if you want to tell a male from a female, you have to grab it and check its hole for a penis.

The female will eventually lay eggs.......Otherwise, chicks will always swim behind the female.
