yaah, i am a muslim and the reason why pork is prohibited is that the fact that it brings too many illnesses to the person who consume it.. and it contains so many harmfull bacteric... " this were discoverd recently" and it the reason was not written in Quran ,, only it was written that pork and alchohol is forbidden ,,,
and becouse the Quran contains God's orders.. we should oby it without even discussing becouse God created us and created all the living and non living things and he only know what is good or bad for us,,
also, there are some exceptions .,, forexample ... if a muslim person is starving and he dont have any source of food except pork .. in this case he can eat it ... "ony if he cant get any king of food and ih he didnt eat he/she will die..." becouse saving our souls from harms is always the priority in Islam >>

there are diseases you can get from pork in that part of the world much more easily than you can here, like trichinosis, which makes eating pigs a dangerous thing to do. I guess when Gawd was handing out the commandments he didn't have enough room for a medical explanation on the tablets so he just stuck in a "Thou shalt not" clause.

I'm not sure if the reason is the same as my religion (Seventh-day Adventist), but the reason we don't eat pork, is because it is unclean, in that context I mean that pigs will eat anything off the ground. Also we don't eat sea food that doesn't have scales on it (such as shrimp) because it eats nothing but the droppings of sea animals off the oceans' floor, and it eat the reamains of dead animals too.

The quran does not include the lessons of the New Testiment where GOD tells one of the disciples not to call anything that HE has made, unclean.
Also, "Jews" do not recognizes JESUS as the messiah and therefore do not recognize the New Testiment. They do not understand that Old Testiment Law was only for GOD to Show mankind that it is impossible for them to be righteous, and that they cannot get to The FATHER by deeds alone.

I'm not sure, but I think this is the reason:
Muslims tend to come from countries with a warm climate.
There is a type of worm that lives in pig meat. In hot countries the meat would tend to contain a lot of these worms and they would make people very ill. For this reason it was considered wise not to eat pig meat in these places.

HELLO!
Islam (and Christianity) is based on Torah and Tanach (that's the Old Testament, to you).

Unfortunately, Islam and Christianity have taken a pick-and-choose approach to the rules established by God for the Chosen People.

Pork is treif (unclean).
I refer to Leviticus 11:7-8.

Now, one other comment - please check and double-check your spelling and grammar for your future questions.
Thanks!
