I believe Shrimp Scampi is just butter, garlic, and shrimp.
Make sure you don't burn the garlic (Low heat or throw it in right after the shrimp)
Remove the crud from the shrimp (Very important)
Throw it together.
Simple, throw anything else in if you like... lemon, parsley,... side of beef. :D

I don't think shrimp scampi ever takes very long. You just broil shrimp in butter and garlic. You could also add a small amount lemon, pepper, and paprika maybe just for color or even a touch of wine. Just look online for a recipe. It's primarily just butter and garlic and shrimp cooks in like 5 minutes. How hard could it be? The main thing it to make sure you don't overcook them. Personally I like making them in a shallow metal bowl so they cook in the butter and it can't run off.

Thaw the shrimp. Put it in a pan with butter and some seasonings you like. Cook until the shrimp is white. Eat. That's it.

SHRIMP SCAMPI PASTA
1/4 cup olive oil
1 lb peeled and deveined large shrimp (raw; 20 to 25 per lb)
4 large garlic cloves, left unpeeled and forced through a garlic press
1/2 teaspoon dried hot red-pepper flakes
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 lb capellini (angel-hair pasta)
1/2 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Bring a 6- to 8-quart pot of salted water to a boil.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a 12-inch heavy skillet over moderately high heat until hot but not smoking, then sauté shrimp, turning over once, until just cooked through, about 2 minutes, and transfer with a slotted spoon to a large bowl. Add garlic to oil remaining in skillet along with red pepper flakes, wine, salt, and pepper and cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, 1 minute. Add butter to skillet, stirring until melted, and stir in shrimp. Remove skillet from heat.
Cook pasta in boiling water until just tender, about 3 minutes. Reserve 1 cup pasta-cooking water, then drain pasta in a colander. Toss pasta well with shrimp mixture and parsley in large bowl, adding some of reserved cooking water if necessary to keep moist.
Makes 4 servings.

Shrimp Scampi
Shrimp Scampi is one of the most popular shrimp preparations. It’s a preparation using garlic. And of course there are many versions. I like to make a creamy style sauce using heavy cream and serving it over fresh noodles. I’ll give you a basic recipe.
Serves 4
Ingredients:
1-1/2 pounds of jumbo shrimp, (21-25 count) peeled and de-veined, tail-on
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
Salt and pepper
3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
3 tbsp. white wine.
Preparation:
In a large skillet, sauté the shrimp in the butter and olive oil for about 5 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through. Season with salt and pepper and remove the shrimp to a large warm platter.
Add the garlic and parsley to the pan and sauté for 2 minutes, add the wine and cook for another minute. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and serve immediately.
Dijon Shrimp Scampi
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients
1 Pound Large Shrimp; shelled
-and deveined
1 Clove Garlic; minced
2 Tablespoons Blue Bonnet
-Margarine
1/3 Cup Grey Poupon Country
-Dijon Mustard
1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
1/4 Cup Fresh Parsley
Hot Cooked Rice; optional
Instructions
In large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook and stir the shrimp and
garlic
in the margarine just until pink.
Blend in the mustard, lemon juice, and parsley. Heat through.
Serve over rice if desired.
Barbecued Shrimp Scampi
Yield: 1 Servings
Ingredients
1/4 c olive oil
1/4 c lemon juice
3 tb chopped parsley
1 tb fine chopped garlic or
-shallots
1 tb fine grated lemon zest
1 1/2 lb large shrimp (about 36)
Instructions
Soak 6 thin wooden skewers, 8 inches long, in water for 1 hour to
prevent burning. If wooden skewers are unavailable, use thin metal
skewers and no soaking is necessary. Peel and devein the shrimp, but
leave tails on. Rinse shrimp under cold water. Drain on paper towels.
In a large bowl, combine marinade ingredients. Toss in shrimp, cover
loosely and refrigerate for 30 minutes, but no longer because when
uncooked seafood is placed in vinegar or citrus juices for longer
than 15-30 minutes, it begins to "cook". Remove shrimp from marinade.
Thread 6 shrimp on each skewer sideways. Grill 4-5 inches over medium
high heat for about 2 minutes on each side, brushing once with
marinade. They cook very quickly, so be careful to not overcook or it
will be tough. Remove from heat and serve with lemon wedges.
