Labs are notorious chewers. We've raised several. The one thing that has worked wonders for all our labs are the dog toys called "KONG". You can find them at any pet supply store or even Walmart. Fill them up with cheese or peanut butter or meat scraps... and the dog will go to town on it! Stick it out with your lab though, as they mature they mellow into the most wonderful pets. They aim to please.

Not everything no - sometimes this can be a sign of frustration! You should really chat to your vet about it, maybe some more exercise - playtime - hugs - or toys will help distract a destructive mutt!
But here's a wee poem to keep you going until you get it sorted...
The Greedy Dog...
This dog will eat anything
Apple cores & bacon fat
milk you poured out for the cat
he likes the string that ties the roast
And relishes hot buttered toast!
Sorry can't remember who its by... and I think there's more of it too!
Good luck

Are you crazy?? Of course not. Take better care of your dog. If you know your lab is going to do this get those things out of its reach, just like with a child. Try giving your lab more attention. Maybe it'll stop eating things it shouldn't be.

No but they do. I have 4 black labs. My brother next door has 2. Those two eat everything in sight they can find. I don't know of any difference except the foods we are feeding them. His get strictly Dog food. Mine get scraps and dog food. Maybe they are craving something? Try to reward your dog with treats when you take away what it shouldn't be eating.

if your dog is young it may be teething. you can buy a
chew toy and save your other stuff. an older dog may
need a better diet or may have developed some very
bad habits.

My black lab eats socks. I swear she's chemically imbalanced. But adorable!
