Oh my gosh yes! In fact I work at a vet clinic and most dogs are allergic to bees. My little dachshund got stung countless times by a swarm of hornets and we had to rush her to the vet. The best thing you can do for your dog if he gets stung even once is give him some benadryl. One mg per Lb. So if he weighs 50lbs then give him 50mgs. This will deter an allergic reaction, then take him to the vet just to be safe.

The reaction in a dog to bee stings are the same as in people. But, very few dogs have this allergy. If they are that allergic breathing problems will become evident within a few minutes. As for her pointing good dog! She is doing what her instincts tell her to do. And yes the reactions will become more aggressive each time it happens if they are allergic. Short of taking them in for allergy tests there is really no way to tell if they are allergic until they have been sting. If the dog is over 6 months old there is little chance that she has not already been stung so I wouldn't worry to much. Good luck.

One time I had a bee hive on my house in a position where they were able to get into the basement. While I was killing the bees my rottweiler got into the basement and came upstairs. I noticed she was chewing something when she came up. When I told her to drop it a bee flew out of her mouth. I immediately called the vet and was told that if the dog is not allergic to the sting and got stung she would just have some discomfort for a day or two and be fine. If the dog was allergic to the sting within an hour you would notice major swelling and she would seem out of it.

Unless she is allergic to bees, leave it be. There's really nothing you can do. In the last 2 weeks or so, I've been stung twice. Hurts for a few minutes, and then goes away. So if he gets stung, just watch for signs of an allergic reaction. If no symptoms, he's fine.

Our 60 pound Australian Shepard mix was stung by a bee or bees from our backyard hive, ( we forgot to lock him in the house when we opened the hive) and within 4 minutes he had thrown up was barely breathing and couldn't stand or raise his head. I called the vet we were 10 minutes from his clinic the vet was 15 minutes away. He seized in the truck most of the way and stopped breathing a couple times. Luckily the vet helped him in time. I now have an epipen, but hope to never have to use it.

Sorry, no. My dog got stung by a bee and I watched her very closely for about 30 min. Thank God she is not allergic. She cried when she got stung though. Now she is careful around bugs.

Get a waterproof match case and put some benadril in it and attach it to your dogs collar. When a bee stings her you can give her benadril. If she has a bad enough reactiion you will have time to get her to the vet.
