I know how to cure them just hold your breath as long as you can!,but what causes them?

Supposedly when eating or drinking to fast you swallow air.

Irregular breathing/unusual air intake or shock. Simple as that. As for cures there's a million.

food gets stuck when you eat then something trys to flick it out,that`s why you kind of jump when it happens
