well i like this guy but i don't know if he will like me. i know him we are friends but i want to take it to the next level how can i do that. i don't want to sound all desperate "oh hey um do you want to get with me" no thats gay.

The first thing to do is to ask him how he feels about relationships. Then you can just tell him how you feel about him. He's never gonna know unless you tell him. You better make your move before he finds someone else.

If he likes you he'll stare at you, smile a lot, probably try to make jokes. You can find info on body language on the net. If he doesn't like you you'll just have to play games or something. Smile at him a lot. Look at him frequently, but don't over-do it, it can freak guys out to have a chick staring at them all the time. Touch him, make jokes. I know its harder for girls to show guys they like them outright. You can only do so much to get him to like you, make sure he notices you.
