The space program has brought many benefits to the citizens of this country and the people of the world, There is so much out there that we don't know - and it is man's challenge to seek and conqueror. Fortunately, we have enough money to have a space program and deal with the border problems. Our congress has not worked out a new immigration bill just yet - but something will come from this. We live in a great country and are fortunate to have people trying to resolve these problems.

Why can't US cut back on foreign aid and spend it on immigration problems?
We could cut back on anything and spend it on something else, but we want the space program. Look around. Do you see this world lasting forever?
In any event, illegal immigrants cost the economy, schools and services tens of billions of dollars per year. That is what we would save EVERY year if we put infrastructure in place in one year. And no one is suggesting we spend nearly that much, even in one year.

When you weigh out what illegal immigrant pay into the system and what they get back, it actually ends up being in the our favor. Don't believe me? Read the latest report on illegal immigration from New Mexico.
"Contrary to popular belief, undocumented immigrants pay
taxes and are not able to receive public benefits, except
for K through 12 public education for their children and
emergency health care.3 The taxes that these families
pay through unavoidable sales and property taxes cover
the state and local share of the public education costs.
In addition to paying their own way for education,
undocumented immigrants often pay for Social Security
and Medicare when those taxes are deducted from their
paychecks. Neither of these social programs is available
to them as they age, so in effect, they contribute to the
costs of caring for the elderly who are citizens of this
country.
Finally, it is impossible to document the positive impact
undocumented workers make to to our state. They are
often gardeners, housekeepers and nannies; they provide
care for our elderly, and work as dishwashers and janitors
and in other low-wage industries where they are paid
less than the minimum wage. All of their efforts make
life easier and richer for the rest of us. But to assume
that they get a free ride in New Mexico is a mistake:
they pay for the services they receive, and then some."

you are ignorant. there are lots of ways people waste money: $30 for a nosebleed seat at an NBA game where the guy on the floor has a $100 million contract simply to dunk the ball ... $10 for a movie ticket where the guy on screen just made $20 million for pretending to be someone else ... women that spend $20 for a pedicure when all you need is a bottle of nail polish and a nail file ... actors, singers and athletes are waaaay to overpaid.

Don't you worry my friend, the federal government is way ahead of you. You may be worried about illegal aliens now, but NASA in conjunction with the US Military, is currently working hard on more prescient problems. That's right - REAL aliens. You can't build a wall that would keep THEM out. Nor will they water your garden, or look after your children - eat them maybe, but not look after them.

The security wall isn't going to solve anything. Catching employers will!!
Texas Co. Hired Illegals to Make MREs
McALLEN, Texas, Oct. 28, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(AP) A Texas employment agency was sentenced to five years of probation for hiring illegal immigrants to work at the nation's top producer of military battlefield rations, federal prosecutors said Thursday.
The Tollin Group was also fined $20,000 and ordered to pay $414,000 in civil penalties Wednesday. It has been barred from Department of Defense contracts for three years.
The San Antonio-based company, which does business as Remedy Intelligent Staffing, pleaded guilty in January to hiring illegal immigrants and trying to cover it up by falsifying employment eligibility forms. The workers were hired for Wornick Co., which makes MREs _ or "meals ready-to-eat."
The investigation was initiated in February 2003 after an al-Qaida operative was arrested with information pointing to McAllen and Wornick as terrorist targets. Wornick had been awarded a $47 million contract to produce more than 1.1 million MREs for U.S. forces in Iraq.
The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force ran background checks on Wornick employees and found hundreds of temporary employees with fraudulent documentation.
No direct link to terrorism was found.

Well, I wouldn't use it on all immigration problems, although I feel that it's important to guard our borders. I would however put that money to use for the elderly in medicare and prescription benefits......and of course to help support our veterans......

We will have no where else to go when all the uncontrolled illegal immigration turns us into a third world country, so why not Mars?
