Don't men take their shirts off at the end of the game and trade with other players as a sign of respect?
I think it's perfectly valid to ask why women don't take off their shirts. I suppose it's because we are more self aware of our bodies...(esp. our stomachs) than men are. They could give a rip about how others see their bodies.
But women football players strive to break from the normal, we work very hard to get where we are, with the respect we deserve, and perhaps we feel that if we whip off our shirts after the game, someone might think we're trying to show off, or that we're strutting around.
But still, I don't see why women don't trade shirts after a game. Especially if it's an international one. I'll have to think about that one.

Probably because women are smarter than men. They know 1) it has been done (Mia did it) and 2) there's no real purpose in doing it, especially for a woman.
On the other hand, men have the Homer Simpson gene - they'll keep touching that hot stove forever. We are indeed a sad lot.

The only question in Women's football is "why don't the players take their tops off". What the hell has the world come to. In Men's football, it's proper football talk. Last time I checked, Women's football was just as valid as Men's football. Can't we have a proper conversation about it for once, or are the other men who write in this just chauvinistic pigs too?

Comical question but pretty sexist and mindless to serious girl players I imagine. The reason is probably because the players take the game very seriously and if they used sex to sell their game it would detract from how they want the game portrayed.

1. People are hypocritical prudes, as commented earlier
2. Most female soccer players don't have the 'cojones' of a Brandi Chastain...so don't expect a repeat anytime soon...
