At Matt 27:52-54 (NEB)A bible states" and many of God's saints were raised from their sleep, and coming out of their graves after the resurrection, they entered the Holy City, where many saw them."

So where is their testimony? Where are their stories? Why do not the other synoptic gospels record this amazing miracle?
Did they return to their families? Why did they not join up with the other apostles and proclaim their resurrections to the world?
Why is there no record of this miracle anywhere else in the documents of the time?

I think, though I don't know since this is severly out of context, that this is referring to the coming apocalypse, and not at that time.

They were resurrected around the year 1914 which is, by Bible Chronology, the time when the 144,000 were taken to Heaven, and it is also when Jesus began ruling over the kingdom of the heavens and of the earth. This can be seen by the signs leading to Jesus taking power in heaven found in Matthew 24. There are still over 8,000 of the 144,000 still alive on earth, and when they die, they go straight to heaven without having to wait many years for a resurrection.

This chronology in the Bible takes much study, and it is too long to get into in a Yahoo Answers, but in short. A day to God is as a thousand years, and there are other things involved which comes up to the year 1914 when calculated.

They don't have stories to tell. They are spirits in Heaven now. The other gospels did not record this because they concentrated on other aspects of the truth.

The Holy City you mentioned is called New Jerusalem in the Bible, and it located in Heaven, not on earth, so they can't speak to us directly. We have the Bible which speaks to us now.

After the Great Tribulation and Armageddon are over, New Scrolls are to be opened. We don't know what will be in them. We have to wait and see if it says anything more about them in the New Scrolls or New Book.

There was no record of what happened in any documents of the time period because the Apostles died and were buried in the graves and were asleep in death until around 1914 when they were resurrected.

Ask any Jehovah's Witness in your area and they can help you with the chronology of events. You can also ask for help online and have someone come to explain things to you at the web site below. You can also read the whole Bible online there. The link is a small link on the right hand side of the web page.

Matthew 27:51-54 (NKJV)
Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, [52] and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; [53] and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. [54] So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

Yes, some people came up out of their graves. They went into Jerusalem and many saw them. What they did after that...we do not know. Lazarus was raised from the dead it wasn't the first time this had happend.

Eventually, these people died again and returned to the grave.

The verse before (Matt 27:51) shows that there was an earthquake that shook some buried caskets back up to the surface and broke them open. Since the cemetaries were right in Jerusalem (the holy city), of course many people saw the corpses.

What is so complicated about that?

The people that put together the Bible left out alot of stuff that didnt help their cause or promote their views. There's full gospels that are not seen with good eyes by the catholic church. Maybe there's some narrative in some of those. Just keep in mind that when you read the Bible, you're only getting half the story, the part they need you to read.

The reading should start at verse 51. There was an earthquake and the bodies were thrown out of the tombs and became visible to people. It happened in Ecuador in 1949 and in Bogota, Columbia in 1962.

There was no actual resurrection here.

This happened upon the death of Jesus. There is no mention of their fate in the Scriptures that I am aware of. There is a great deal of history not included in any records. That this issue is not addressed is no surprise or problem for me. My faith is sound in the knowledge that He lives. I doubt that they resumed lives as Lazarus did. They more than likely went into the kingdom with the Lord or that they did continue to testify and serve the Lord. It is an interesting question but not a deal breaker.

when Jesus died on the cross for you and I ,....he took back the keys of death and hell and the grave....we all know from the scriptures that Jesus descended and spent some time in hell in the 3 days before he was raised from the dead....why did he go there?
well I believe it was to offer salvation to them,...because of what he just did for all of those who died in sin before his death on the cross ...and that when he was raised up they were taken with him....he is a just God and that way all mankind would have heard of his gospel and what he did for them ..but what I think is amazing is some that were there still chose to reject him and stayed.....so anyway that way all of mankind that has ever been born or will be born has no excuse to say they never heard the salvation message......and maybe they didnt get a place in the word as much as you would like but to those who saw them on that day it was testimony enough of who Jesus was and what He just did for all mankind

Those are all good questions.

Maybe they were bodily assumed into Heaven soon after they rose.

And maybe there are no records because the Romans ran things at the time -- and they probably had plenty of motives for keeping the whole thing under wraps.

This was a one time event. This was to prove that Jesus defeated death. Another sing that Jesus is the Messiah. the Christ.
Hey, there is account of Jesus in many books of the bible, but, still people don't believe. What difference would this make.

I'm in no position to look it up right now, but are you sure that this isn't something that is to happen in the future? 144,000 Saints are to be resurrected just before the rest of humanity is judged.
