I love fried chicken! Here are a few variations that you can mix and match.

Marinade the bird!
Buttermilk makes your chicken really moist (3 hrs or overnight)
Zesty italian salad dressing gives a zippy taste (1-3 hours)
Honey mustard sauce is yummy, try Brianna's brand (3 hours)
After it soaks, skip the egg and just flour and fry.

Flour mixes:
Try adding some spices to your breading flour (amounts are for 2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper):
1 tbsp poultry seasoning
or
1 teaspoon nutmeg (sounds wierd, tastes fab!)
or
1 Tbsp ground rosemary
or
1 tsp red pepper (cayanne)
or
1/2 pkg dry ranch salad dressing mix (put the other half in buttermilk marinade) option 1/2 tsp red pepper
or
2 Tbsp finely zested lemon peel, 1 Tbsp finely grated fresh ginger, 1/2 tsp red or white pepper

Great Question! Bon Appetite!

This is my great grandma's recipe. Try it, and you'll never go back to KFC again!

Fried Chicken

3 cups flour
6 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons paprika
¾ teaspoon pepper
Chicken thighs, breasts, and drumsticks (skin on)

Mix all ingredients and place into a big trash bag (makes cleanup SOOOOO much easier). Place a few pieces of chicken into the bag and shake until well covered. Fry in hot oil or Crisco for about 15 minutes on each side. Place on a cookie sheet lined with paper towels. Let stand 10 minutes or so, and serve immediately!

I know a good recipe that came out of my daughters Trim Kids diet plan book that is delicious.....it tastes like fried chicken (crispy) without all the grease. First, soak the chicken in skim milk and 1 egg. Next, coat the chicken in a crushed cornflake mixture. Just crush the Cornflakes until they are like sand, kind of. Batter the chicken in the mixture and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes. Its really good, and if you didnt wanna use skim milk, regular milk will do.

Place the chicken in a container and cover with buttermilk and a shot of Tabasco, let marinade for 1 hour.
Season your flour with salt, white pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Coat the chicken with flour then the buttermilk again, and back into the flour one more time. Deep fry in soybean oil it won't burn as quickly as canola, also don't over heat the oil it should be 350 degrees, and the chicken should be cooked until it reaches 165 degrees. I usually brown it in the oil and finish it in the oven.
