Cardinals are extremely territorial and have a habit of charging windows....try throwing something over it a few days or put something in the window like a prism that will reflect light...it will disorient him enough to wanna stay away

Get a piece of dark-colored paper or cardboard and cut out a big hawk-shaped silhouette. Tape it to the window.

I suspect that the window is reflecting something -- including maybe even the cardinal itself and it's defending its territory.

Go to walmart or any 5 and dime store and buy a toy rubber snake or 2 and tape (or use a suction cup) it to your window. It will not approach the snakes. It is seeing it's reflection in your window, and thinks it's another cardinal..... and trying to protect it's territory. They are afriad of snakes!

The Cardinal see it's reflection. Put something out on the window, like a sun catcher or something, so he won't see himself in the window.

You know, I had that same problem for about four months. The Cardinal finally stopped, but he still hangs around and taunts me with his singing. Cardinals do not hang around our area this late in the season, they're usually gone by now.

I do not know what to do about that. I've searched and searched and have not found an answer.

If you ever find an answer, please let me know!

This cardinal is really fighting with his reflection in your window, which he thinks is another bird. This is a healthy individual who is defending his territory, try drawing the shade to see if it will block the bird's reflection in the glass.

If the black paper hawk doesn't work a plastic crow or owl hung by the window will do it. The bird obviously doesn't have bird flu or it would be dead by now, it is just brain damaged. If you touch it just wash your hands and you will be fine.

Use black construction paper and make a big cutout silhouette of a bat or a hawk. Or an owl.
