Why would you join the reserve? Join the Navy...forget the reserve. You join the reserve, better understand they will utilize you for the time they have you. Don't believe that one weekend a month bullshit. You will get deployed to probably Bahrain, Iraq the whole-what-2 years you sign up.
The run is a mile and 1/2. The time you are allowed depends on your age. If you are 18-24 its 12-13 minutes I think. Not really that hard. Especially if you are athletic. Max weight requirement? As far as I know, there isn't really one. They may suggest one, but if you are athletic, you shouldn't worry. I knew girls in boot camp that had probably 40lbs on me.
If you have trouble with your eyes. In boot camp, they will give you BCG...birth control glasses..that's what they call them. any other questions, I was in the navy. nikke.reese@yahoo.com

Weight limits are proportional to your height. Time limits for running are divided by age and gender. Running distance is a mile and a half. Not sure about the vision portion, as I never have had to wear glasses, but many people in the Navy do wear glasses, and some people even got lasik vision correction surgery from the navy. If you are over the max weight, they will measure your body fat. If you have low body fat, then you're good to go.

The Navy is getting serious about Physical Fitness and Readiness requirements. They are kicking people out who are not up to snuff and not letting people in who are questionable or borderline. Navy requirments for ht/wt and fitness performance are by gender/age. If you are "overweight" then your are administered a Body Fat % test by measurement of your neck and waist. Requirements are in OPNAVINST 6110.1H. Do a yahoo or google search of OPNAVINST 6110.1H and you should get links to pdf versions of the instruction. This will answer all your questions, and is the source navy officials use to administer the Navy Physical Fitness program to sailors.

If you were half as serious as you sound you would ask your recruiter. Navy is a very lax branch. If you are athletic youll be fine. If any problems or setbacks arise YOUR RECRUITER will help you.
