Well, I come to agree with you! Religion is a guideline implied by the rulers! Thus, they manage and know where people are moving! This means that there is no free will of people, but guided (guideline) by the few who rule!

Religion was never a guideline in the 1st place, it was a way for the powerful to rule the weak and get what they want. people would be killed if they didnt believe what their king/queen did therefor making people believe that their religion was better than others.
The churches now not under the monarchy's thumb have cashed in on the fact that they needed money and they had followers to give them money, but typically they got greedy and want more money therefore need more followers and they fight with other religions to achieve this.
Religion died with freedom of speech, many people have decided to not worship any deity or have gone in pursuit of the lesser known, ie satanism, and original religions such as paganism,
anyway thats what i think, and that was a rather long rant - sorry!

It is a guideline for living a moral and decent life. Anyone who uses religion as an excuse or a crutch is not a believer -- they are a follower. Any religion that wants you to waste your short time on Earth doing exactly what it tells you is a complete fraud.

Its more than a guideline, is a way to see, to feel ,about what we do and what we don't, about what you want for yourself, and you are right we shouldn't be at war based on it but people manipulate and makes other people believe in things that don't have anything to do with religion belief or even ourselves

I think religion is a guideline, though some people use it as an excuse. We are at war to remove people that are trying to kill people for no real reason. Sometimes to have peace, you have to go to war. Would you like the terrorists or genocidal maniacs like Saddam coming and killing you and your family?

Religion is meant to facilitate spirituality. However, in more fundamentalist ideologies, it can be used as a scapegoat for being rediciulous. Take for example, those people getting shot for watching soccer.
If we get lost in our religions, we can begin to bicker over them. Never forget the true meaning of the religion which is to facilitate higher levels of being.

That's a nice thought but the bottom line on most religions is that they have the only way to god and if you don't follow their group you are going to die.
Ask a Christian what is going to happen to a Muslim, or a Buddhist if they don't take Christ as their savior

haha Christianity never tells to kill those who don't believe.
The terrorists kill us because they view the U.S. as a county who has lost morality, and therefore feel justified.
YET The Bible tells Christians to love their enemies and to PRAY for those who persecute us. Not to shove our 'religion' down people's throats, but to show the love of God. Anyone who does otherwise is not a true Christian. Christianity is much more than a religion. It is truth, but don't believe me. Find out on your own! It's worthless for me to tell you to believe me, you're much more believable to your own self. ^_^X
