in this question i wanna ask u a question abt muhammad(pbuh)
u said he raped aisha
bcoz of the big difference between him & her

but in ur bible i found mary (pbuh) was engaged
as in this encyclopedia
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08504a.htm

" a respectable man to espouse Mary, then twelve to fourteen years of age, Joseph, who was at the time ninety years old "

THEN WHY YOU LIKE TO DENY THIS CLEAR MARRIAGE OF MUHAMMAD(PBUH) WITH AISHA ??

& also notice aisha was engaged to another man b4 him
that means also she is an adult

plz if u have a proof to have a good discussion write it

actually, in this modern days it is illegal to mary under age women..

if looked back at century before.. its not a wrong thing to mary in young ages.. our great-great-great grandparents are likely to marry when they are still kids and young.. they dont even understand the responsibles of mariage..some might married in the early age of 7 too...

its not a big deal..

Well, christians will find anything to make Islam looks bad in the WORLD eyes..

I have just seen the link which is an encyclopeadia of the Bible produced by the catholic church, and the section is on the life of Joseph and and his marriage to Mary, mother of Jesus. He was 90 years old and Mary was 12 years old.
What the questioner is trying to point out is that you cannot jugde Muhammed's marriage to Aisha in the light of modern practices , If you call Muhammad a peadophile, you must be ready to say the same of Joseph the carpenter,

cindy, you still have a lot to learn!

ok, first of all please do not compare a writing of some sort about the bible to the writings of the koran.

If you are to compare bible to koran, then and only then can I respond to your question.

Mary was clearly old enough to be engaged to a man, as she would accoding to custom, continue to live with her family for one year at least before her husband was to come and claim her.

Mary was found with child, within this period of time, and Joseph was told of it. The bible states clearly that he had not yet known her, so he knew the child was not his. The bible states, that because Joseph was a rightous man and not given to anger, that he sought to divorce (put her away) her privately, rather than have her publically humiliated and possibly stoned.

No where in the bible does it state anything about marys age, except for the fact that she was old enough to get married.

A six year old child would never have been considered old enough to marry. Nor a nine year old for that matter.

By the way, I do not deny the marriage of aisha, it is clearly stated in his writings that he married her at six and raped her at nine. The fact that he did it, does not make it right, but it does make him what we would all consider a child rapist .

Joseph ws NOT 90, but probably only about 18 since he had to go to Bethleham to be registered for taxiation. Nobody lived to the age of 90 at that time. And at that time, a woman had no say as to who her father or brother gave her to in marriage. a lot of the holy scriptures in both religions were writtenbypeople who didn't like the person they were writing about. and many did not like women. Mohammed, being a good man would not rape any woman. and Joseph would not rape Mary, since he was also a good man.

I've always expressed regret that people try to retrofit modern standards onto ancient people. Mohammed's consummation of his marriage to Aisha at nine years of age was probably young even for his own time, but I think we are wrong to look at that age gap through modern eyes.

But do understand that the comparison of Mary and Joseph doesn't work, even from an Islamic standpoint. Jesus has no earthly father in either religion, so Mary's relationship was an unconsummated one.

This is the true story of Prophet Mohammad PBUH engagement to Aysha at this link:
http://www.witness-pioneer.org/vil/Articles/companion/02_abu_bakr.htm#Holy Prophet's Engagement to Ayesha

Now knowing that she was engaged to a man before him, and that the Prophet waited 3 years before he married her so she got older, and his previous and later marriages were only of widows, all give us a true clue for the motives of his marriages. He was not motivated by sex otherwise we will see this when he was a young man living in free sex relation society, he lived his first 25 years as a single man, next 25 years only with one women who was 15 years older than he was. He only got multiple marriages when he was over 50 so how can this be explained on the basis of sex only. Aysha was the most influential and knowledgeable woman in the history of Islam and for long time and this was the wisdom of this marriage.

1. I went to your site. I saw no proof of Mary & Joseph's ages, which are not mentioned in the Bible, but are also of little consequence.
2. I haven't accused anyone of raping anyone...so I am confused as to who 'u' is you're referring to.
3. You have managed to tell me what I believe without proof and then demand proof in response.
4. You clearly are tired of people refuting your beliefs unjustly, but that is no reason to post a blanket attack on all Christians. Get a grip...and do a little research yourself.

This could have been a very good question, if you have tried writing words that made sense.

No christian I know of says that Joseph and Mary (Jesus's parents) were not married. Alot of people dispute wether Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married.... but since you question didn't make alot fo sense (I think you got your characters mixed up) it's hard to say anything more.

The Ocean of Tao
Cannot be called an ocean
For there is nothing else to give it name.
There is no sky above it,
No earth below it,
No shore that surrounds it.
And so it "is".
And yet, "it" is not.
For what is "it" if there is nothing else?
And so there is only "one".
And yet, there is not.
For "one" to be, there must be "two".
And there is not.
There is only entire.
And yet, there is not.
For to be entire Is to measure complete.
And can there be measure Of what has no beginning or end?
Void of name; Void of substance; Void of measure.
Such things define nothingness-
But only if such things "are".
And, since the "are" not, What is?
Everything and Nothing-
The Ocean of Tao
That can not be called an ocean,
or even Tao.

Apparently the problem is that you're not a good reader. In the article you link to it says:

"It will not be without interest to recall here, unreliable though they are, the lengthy stories concerning St. Joseph's marriage contained in the apocryphal writings. "

It says the story is UNRELIABLE. That means it shouldn't be believed.
