Illegal immigrants and excess legal immigration have the same effect on draining our funding for underfunded schools and health care, and crowding our already overcrowded schools.

We subsidize education and services for poor people even if they pay all taxes, which is why our laws, like those of most countries, limit the amount of poor immigrants who can come. Our schools and services are already failing in our border states and states where illegals concentrate. The employers who get cheap labor are not paying to offset this burden. I think any 'reform' that results in people being here above what is allowed in our current laws needs to fund the cost.

For right now, we need real border security and need to get the employer database and universal biometric ID up and running sufficient to service all employers. During that period we could aggressively enforce deportation against gang members and those 302,000 illegals Homeland Security estimates will be brought into state and local jails this year alone.

That will give us time to figure out what to do with those here and how or if to structure a worker program for more workers. However, no one should be able to bring in family "above" a quota amount in any event. Those are dishonest numbers. We need to know exactly how many people we would be talking about and how their impact on schools and services would be offset.

Instead of reforming things, let's just start enforcing the laws already on the books, starting with the arrest and deportation of ALL ILLEGALS.

I think everyone here that works and supports their family deserves a chance to stay.I don't think taking homes and cars..families away,is fair.If a person, illegal or not, works for their money and spend it as they see fit to live and try to improve themselves ,they should be treated fairly.I don't believe in amnesty, but I think families that have been here for years and support themselves should be given a cost effective easier way to become legal.

I think as long as they pay taxes then I'm fine with it. I am not fine with them getting taxpayer health care and education when I can't afford to by health care for myself and have thousands of dollars in student loans.
