Do not believe something simply because you have heard it. Do not believe anything simply because it has been handed down for many generations. Do not believe anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe anything simply because it is written in Holy Scriptures. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of teachers, elders, or wise men. Believe only after careful observation and analysis, when you find that it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all. Then accept it, and live up to it.

Definatly read the holy texts before judging the religion true or false. Remember the Crusadors. If someone were to judge Christianity based on them then they would be judging it wrongly because the Crusadors were not acting within God's will.

If you choose a religion for your own then some other religion will hate you or judge you. If you believe in a higher being then ask Him to reveal the truth to you and just be patient. If you really want to know the truth and not what makes you feel good and what goes with your beliefs, then ask God to show you the truth. Im a christian and God did reveal His truth to me through somone else. If you dont ask you cant wonder why or what.

i don't think it is fair to judge a religion based on what you saw through another person perspective. Maybe you should check it out first before judgin that religion. and yes i would actually read the holy texts based on that religion and research up on that. Look at both sides of those non-believers and believers of that religion.

No, it's not ok to judge based on what someone has told you.
Yes, I have read "holy" texts about a religion that others have told me was evil. I don't call something evil without knowing about it first and hearsay does not count.

You don't judge, you discern.
Yes, there is alot of scripture in the Bible that describes the occult, worshiping idols, being swayed by false teachings, and it warns us not to dabble in it, to stay away from it.
Problem is, there are ALOT of false teachings today, and the unwise judge pure Christianity by those false teachers.
Why not stop looking at MAN for the answers, and instead, look to God? He alone holds the truth, and if you want the truth, He will reveal it to you.

I never do, I usually try to read their holy texts and look at their history and then talk to the person I'm interested in knowing better.

its not about what people "tell" you, it what the FOLLOWERS of that religion do, or don't do. You don't need to read holy text to see how nations of a religion, or the people of a religion act and behave

Usually i try asking/ talking to someone of a religion to find out information about that religion, simply making assumptions or believing someone who doesnt know what theyre talking about usually does not work

You must answer all of you religious questions your self. Use the information of the answers given to you for a guide to answer your own personal questions. You must also watch out from who you get answers/opinions from you shouldn’t believe everything you hear.
