l-lysine is good for???

my aunt said it is good for my body face skin.. i get herpies under my nose.. not whiteheads, bumps with water in them and they hurt expanding the skin. so now i am taking 500mg twice a day. is this good? will it help?

My mom takes it for cold sores (herpes) and she swears by it. Apparently, it lessens the severity of the outbreak and it clears it up faster. She only takes it when she feels one coming on so I don't know that you need to take so much every day. I'd ask your doctor what he/she suggests.
