Use a heat defence spay such as Nu a product of GHD before you brow dry and straighten (by the way use GHD straighteners) They are the best although a little pricey. Then after styling use a balm (only a very small amount) Or wax to prevent frizz. This should keep your hair nice and sleek ALL DAY & Night.

I straighten my hair pretty much every day, and the only thing I use to keep it straight is hairspray. After I straighten a section I hair spray it, brush it out, and then put it to the side so I can do the other sections. However, it depends on your hair type too. My hair straightens better and maintains it better than some of the people I know that have really tight curls or frizzy hair. It also depends on the humidity! The humidity is a bugger for everyone who straightens their hair I think.

One option is to have it permanantly straightened at a salon, we call it 'relaxed' at our salon.

You've probabaly heard of the 'wet to dry' straigheners out now, they'll be good on your hair. Your hair should stay straighter for longer.

After coming out the shower i towel dry my hair slighty,
put my parting in and apply a blowdry lotion on my hair.
I recommend 'LOREAL hot2straight' it's in a pink bottle and usually on offer-bonus!
Run the blowdry lotion through your hair with your fingers paying more attention to areas that become frizzy, make sure not to apply too much though as this may cause it to look greasy.
I think a blowdry lotion is vital!

I find it easier to leave my hair for about an hour before i dry it, but if you haven' the time then you can blowdry it straight away. Your hair shouldn't become frizzy in the mean time as you would have applied a blowdry lotion which should hold down the frizz.

When blowdrying it's important to section your hair and use a vent brush or paddle brush. It's vital to use the right brush! AVON have a good range of brushes, if you have the cataloge have a look through it and it should give an idea of what brushes to use.
Blowdrying is the most important part when styling your hair>If you were to rough dry your hair it will take you twice as long to straighten it.

Finish off by running your ceramic starighteners through each section of hair. It's worth spending round £100 on a pair as they will save time and won't damage your hair as much and should last you a long time. Mine are from a salon and have lasted me over two years and i use them nearly everyday!

If you decide to buy the 'wet to dry' straighteners you should also apply blowdry lotion. I usually rough dry the roots first then run through the hair with the straighteners (They make a sizzleing sound so don't be put off). The wet to dry straigheners arn't recomended to be used everyday.

Another idea is to go to a salon and get your hair blowdried there to see how they blow dry your hair. Watch how they do it and what products they use. Ask them what products they are using and why, maybe invest in some of their products if they do the job for you.

Remember to use finishing products, like hairspray, moulding wax/paste or a finishing spray. Don't use too much, but this should also help.
Hpefully doing all the above your hair should stay straight throughout the day.
Hope this helps!

I would make sure your hair is thoroughly dry before straightening. I've got that Tresemme heat spray - I'm not sure I like it, I think it dampens up your hair too much.
I've got a Tigi bed head balm for after and that's good stuff.
All those products make my hair greasy after 24 hours, so ideally I have to wash my hair daily.
Sometimes I haven't the time to straighten and so just scoop up all my hair and clip it! Always keep a scrunchie in your bag in case of disasters.

well my hair is thick and have really small curls in my hair that makes it fluff up.... i would use the smoothing balm before u use the defence spray... also another tip put a little bit of the smooth balm on damp hair but do it in sections.... then do more as you straighten.... try using the tresmme shampoo and cons.... oh and also don't keep washing your hair to much - i only wash my hair every 4-5 days then that way the products i put in my hair keep protecting my hair, which i also use the PINK products...very good stuff.. and wash in cold water....

Use the straightening balm when you blow dry it and while you flat iron it spray the heat defense on each section as you flat iron. Use a finishing spray afterwards that holds the humidity out of your hair.

You need to buy a ceremic flat iron. One with ceremic plates and heating elements. The ceremic conducts heat very well, and allows moisture to be locked in the hair instead of drying it out. Cheap flat irons are why hair frizzes out when there is moisture in the air. If there is no moisture locked in your hair, it will grab whatever it can hold! I recommend a "Chi Iron". I know they are pricey, but very well worth it. They come with a warrenty and dont break easily. I have had mine for 4 years and no problems. Also, try there "Chi Styling products". They compliment the flat iron a great deal.

keep away from moisture. If it is humid or it is raining outside, say goodbye straightness, hello frizz. I know its incredibly annoying isnt it.
getting some really high quality straighteners definatley helps. I had £25 ones from Boots and my hair stayed straight for about half an hour, my ceramic plate ones work much better but I paid £100 for them from a salon.

hey, I don't know what condition your hair is in but what is this obsession everyone has with pencil straight hair. Granted its nice to have sleek and shiny hair but a bit of wave and volume is sexy and I don't mean bouffant. I personally think that totally straight hair looks boring. Don't get me wrong, I use straighteners too but only to tame it a bit where it kicks up in the wrong places. Good luck amd stay away from the damp to avoid frizz.

I use a Chi straightener which is what the salon stylists use. Then I use some straightening balm from Matrix.
