Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah I finally get it! I've been asked this before and I came up with 5000 and then I was really mad because it said it was 4100. For those of who you got stuck like me, you probably were thinking in the wrong column. Be careful! 1000 plus 40 is 1040. plus 1000 is 2040. plus 30 is 2070. plus 1000 is 3070. plus 20 is 3090. plus 1000 is 4090. This is where I messed up:
4090 plus 10 is 4100! 90 plus 10 only makes 100, it doesn't affect the one thousand column. Yarrrrrrrr.
