You can never do enough. One sin sepperates us from God. This is exactly why we all need Jesus.

It's a little deeper than that-I personally see that symbol as pure simple and complicated yet deeply mystical;in order to progress you don't know when your being right or wrong-good intention's pave the way to hell etc. but if your heart is good and you are moving in the right direction, even what you may consider to be bad things that you've done-can in the cycle of your karma be good-the same in reverse-this is easy to demonstrate to your self-cut out the symbol and spin it clockwise-representing going with the good flow of your karmic path and hense the end result-all white! if on the other hand you go against the flow it spins black-obviously representant of a negative result for even a 'good' action!!!! Not a lot of people know that,i believe by the manner of your question that you are at present slightly out in your balance but knowing this may help you to steady,as in all things your voice within is trying to guide you;just listen, you cool.ktf.x

Depends on the gravity of th situation - beg for forgiveness, repent for your sin, and do penance for it. For every act there is a consequence, it depends on the situation.

Start with prayer, ask the Holy Spirit to assist you in finding the answer you seek. I also suggest have a private conversation with your Priest or Pastor as it seems that you are unsure of how to proceed.

I'm guessing you're not Catholic, as then I'd suggest going for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, prayer and complete your penance with your whole heart.

Either way, start with prayer - see where it leads you - if you need help, speak to a Pastor/Priest someone that may be able to guide you better to find resolution to this question.

I knew a man who felt that people who did bad things and then redeemed themselves by doing good deeds were actually MORE spiritually-advanced than people who never did anything bad--at all, ever.

He held this belief, in large part, to justify (at least in his own mind) his grandiose, narcissistic, and anti-social personality disorders--not to mention his criminal behaviors, past and present.

I'm telling you about this person so that you can start to understand why it can almost be a dangerous notion to believe that wrongs can be offset by rights. Whatever wrongs that you've committed are there, forever, at least in your own mind and in your own conscience. If you choose to do good, then do good for it's own sake, not to try to settle an unbalanced life-ledger.

The important thing is to "go forth, and sin no more."

You never make up for the bad you do. The guilt you feel for what you do is God passing judgement upon you. When you feel no more guilt, that is when God has forgiven you.

Never stop trying to do good and always think twice about your actions. Think to yourself, is what I'm about to do something that I'd want put on the front page of the newspaper for all to see? If not, maybe you'd prefer not to do it!

I'm Wiccan, and believe in the threefold law - whatever you do, for good or evil, will return to you threefold. I suppose it could also go the other way - whatever evil you do, you might be able to redeem by threefold good. It would be worht a shot, anyway. Even if it doesn't work, you'll have done three good things.

The Bible says we can never "make up for" bad things that we do, and that because we do bad things we can't go to heaven. He sent Jesus to die and take away those bad things for us, so all we have to do is confess our sins and turn away from them and trust Jesus' blood to cover them.

There is no answer to the question. Those two things aren't on the same scale.

Define "good things." Define "bad things." Define "make up for."

it's not that so much as you have to forgive yourself for the bad thing. how can you forgive yourself? consider seeing a priest of minister who can help you forgive yourself. write it all down until you can forgive yourself. tell a counselor who can help you forgive yourself. and take yoga. it will help you forgive yourself.
