Okay, why do guys whistle or honk, when a girl is walking down the road? What is the reason?

Ok... As much as it might creep girls out it's actually a compliment.
Although I myself have never done it I can see why some guys do it. I mean when I'm driving down the road and I see a beautiful girl walking my first reaction is "Holeeee..." and I'm probably about to slam into a semi to get a better look.
So I can see how guys who arent so bright might honk and whistle because thats what I'd do if I didn't know better.

Guys think honking at girls is cute.. really it's not.. honking dates back to the 70's when men would cruise the strip in large cities looking for hookers.. if there were a bunch of women standing on the street they'd honk and the ones that were "dating" would come to the corner and seperate themselves.. it's not cute or flattering- best thing to do is either ignore them or flip them off.

Lol! I even have this comparable difficulty. i'm a woman btw. Smh, even nonetheless that's generally slightly demanding or perhaps even frightening, merely appreciate the attention! some persons are merely blessed with good seems :) wish i helped.

There is no reason and it is immature people who don't have the confidence to walk right up to someone and get the digits!

It's just an attempt to get your attention. Don't take it too personally, they do that with pretty much everybody. They expect you to ignore them, and they get all flustered if you take notice.

its their way of getting your attention. its like if a wolf sees a female wolf they howl at each other, its like their mating call of sorts. it doesn't make sense at the time, but some girls dont' mind it. of course their are other ways of getting our attention by not embarrassing us.
