If you have a torn disc, no reputable chiropractor will work on you. I had an MRI that clearly showed the damage. I had cortisone injections that helped, but eventually the sciatic pain was too much to bear, so I had a partial discectomy. I worked very well. Good luck!

A discogram will show the extent of the bulging disc and show where any of the disc material has leaked out to. Most doctors may suggest surgery. I would suggest seeing a chiropractor before deciding to do surgery. He/She can help relieve some of the pressure the bulging disc is causing without surgery. Most importantly, follow the chiro's recommendations. It may take some time, but give it a try.

My dad had that done and ended up getting a near fatal staph infection from the procedure.
