Salvador Dali or Picasso?

lets see both of them had mental problems (thus their art) Dali is the icon for surrealist paintings while Picasso is one of the founders of cubist art. So this is kind of a hard decision since the artists have different styles of art. I think I would have to say Dali just for the fact that i can relate to more of his works than i can to Picasso's.

Apples and Oranges....i love Dali's artwork a lot extra acceptable, yet I understand Picasso large impression on twentieth Century paintings, yet when I had a selection of which artist to dangle on my wall i wager i'd say an early Dali.(actual i'd really have a Magrite or a Dorthea Tanning if we are choosing Surrealists.)

They're both Spanish, both painters, but Picasso is a communist, and Dali is not.

I personally prefer Dali, not just because of the visuals but also because the Surrealist movement is an interesting time period. Dali, like many others involved in the Surrealist movement, had their work heavily rooted in psychology, something that definately shines through in his work.
A lot of what draws me to art is the concept behind it, and the ideas within the Surrealist movement are interesting.

I'll take picasso any day. dali produced some great work, i just like pablo's work more

I like Salvador Dali...but I like the abstract stuff where I can decide what is happening in the pictures. :)
