It's not about liberating the Iraqi's. Unless one's considering going from Hussein to civil war as liberating. It's more like something in secret between the republican hierarchy and Hussein.

We remember the initial invasion and occupation was about Weapons of Mass Destruction. When that didn't work out they changed it to "Operation Iraqi Freedom".

Iraqi freedom is not likely because, freedom, like honesty, is a successful principle at the core of any successful culture. Not the Iraqi culture.

Freedom, of itself, doesn't exist in the outside/external world. Freedom is a self-evident-truth, like honesty, tolerance, forgiveness, equality, peace, joy, unconditional love, and many others. They come from an invisible place inside our own awareness and become visible only when we express them into the outside world.

Individual freedom is not transferable, it's inherent. If known, its principles can be discussed and expressed to others as tools to develop self-evident-truths. We learn its principles and develop the personal responsibility to express them individually. Eventually, by individual merit, we create the collective power of an indivisible nation.

The unique idea of America and its founding cultural values came from the Founder's realization that human-rights come from The Creator, to The People, then, as needed, to the government.

Individual freedom is an inherent, human-right from the Source of their Creation. We acknowledge and experience freedom at the same level to which we personally understand and express it, individually, nationally and globally.

The Iraqi's are not ready, individually or as a nation, to express and maintain a collective personal and national freedom. Yet, American government offers no explanation of the meanings and definitions of the founding principles of freedom to the Iraqis.

Without the guidance of the Divine principles of freedom, they put a "Constitution", (civil laws), in place to simply force compliance. Force guarantees counter-force. It polarizes, divides and conflicts. Force never unifies.

Yet, there's no mention of the Divine Laws/Rights, like the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God", self-evident-truth or securing the people's inalienable rights, of the founding principles of American freedom. No expression of its principles, precludes freedom.

The invasion/occupation is not about benefiting the Iraqis or anyone else. The only thing coming out of it is America is showing the rest of the world what they will do to those without nuclear power.

Oil and money. no bid contracts. Working class Tax payers pay $2 trillion cost of war in Iraq. Republicans send the USA into Bankruptcy with more debt and then end Social Security.
The 300,000 to 500,000 dead civilians in Iraq are "liberated".
No matter what we don in Iraq in the end Iran will control Iraq, Iraqis hate democracy always have and always will. They prefer a Islamic republic form of Government, just like Iran's. The civil war in Iraq will last 10 years or more. All sides want control of the oil and money.
Freedom is not a gift to be given to Iraq by the death of our service people. Freedom must be won by the blood of those who want to be free.

Why can't you people realize there can be more than one reason for the war?

The only way oil was a factor in the war, was the fact that Russia and France had oil contracts with Iraq, and did not want to jeopardize them. That is why the U.N. did not sanction the war.

I think first and foremost it was about deposing an insane dictator that may or may not have head WMD's...but at the time we believed he did. Did he? Still a mystery.
Liberating Iraqi's and helping them install a government by the people was an important and necessary function of our efforts...
We have enough oil in the US that would make it unnecessary for us to invade a country purely for that reason....our government would not risk the lives of our men and women over a commodity.
