I have a regular cab 03 Dodge Ram. I have two high end kicker 15's behind the seat. ofcorse the box is alot smaller than it should be. Also, my old Lanzar 15's were bigger than the holes and I had to shave down around the speaker holes. So these new 15's are allowing some air to escape. Do you think the popping is coming from the air escaping or the lack of air space in the box, or something else that you can think of?

over excursion - it's when your voice coil is smaking the pole plate due to no "air resistance" from your leaky box.

Often it is mistaken for clipping.

Get/build a new box or your subs will be toast.

Hard to say without hearing it. Sounds more like a wiring, or clipping issue to me though....
