I have problems with blind faith of any kind. Especially when people point to the bible as absolute proof. They may just as well pull out the phone book and, say. "see it all right here!" If you believe in something, you should be able to tell me why without pointing to a book that is mostly fable. Then, when you rin out of arguments, you throw up your hands and say, "Well you just have to believe in things you can't see!"
I have a problem with all of that.
At least with Santa Claus, the Easrter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy they leave you alone if you say you don't believe it. But, with Christianity and God, they hound you at every turn like your mind is ripe for change. They force you to get downright insulting. Then they want to know why. Never realizing that they are as pesky as green flies.
I know it's going to be tough to understand, but that 2,000 year old Bible was not written by God. It was written by men who claimed to be inspired by God. Everything in the Bible is suspect. And, none of the stories happened yesterday. Yet Christians use the Bible to stifle science, because thy haven't gotten over the fact that the earth is not flat or that the sun is not the center of the universe.

First of all, God did not write the Bible people did!
The books on the bible are a compilation of stories told by people who claim they had some kind of encounter with Jesus and so on...Some books where left out of the bible because it didn't go along with what some ruler wanted people to believe.
Some stories were written after 20 years or more I ask some 40 year old people what do they remember from 20 year ago?
the answer was nothing!

Your question 'Why do people have problems with faith???'. They have no problem with faith. They have a problem with their faith toward God. They say that they have faith in God, yet they will not show God that faith. I do not mean that we should tempt Him, like stepping off a cliff, and saying 'God I have faith that you will not let me hit the bottom', what I mean is Believe that He will help you accomplish His will for you. Example: I wanted to go to 'The College of Health Evangelism, I did not have the money, nor the transportation, to attend, But I felt that I was to attend, so I took my last bit of money ($20) and paid someone to take me the 30 miles there, with the promise that they would come back and pick me up. Well after applying, I then attempted to contact this person, but to no avail. I prayed that God would get me home. I was impressed to walk up to one of the students (I did not know a single person there) and say to him 'God said that you are to take me home.' which I did. He was totally shocked! He took me home, right then, and on the way, he told me that that night he had dedicated his car to God, and that he had not expected a reply form God so soon. Any way, he gave me transportation to and from school every day, I did not have to pay him anything ( although I gave him what I could as I could ), I got a discount on my school bill, and God saw to it that that bill was paid for me. Now that is exercising faith.

I don't know if it's that people have a problem with faith. If you read some of the answers given by both sides ( the Christians and the atheists), there's a similarity of attitude: "I'm right and you're wrong." It's not the belief itself that causes the problem, it's the holier-than-thou attitude. Similarly, if someone is an atheist, that doesn't bother me - it's the immediate assumption they make that anyone who believes is stupid.
I don't mean any of this against you, by the way. Your question was well thought out and sounded sincerely meant.

Bibles have borrowed many earlir myths. for, example the story of Noah was preceded by thousands of years by the epic of Gilgamesh.
You assume that a bible is the only so-called holy book around?
There many, many "holy "books in the world and some are much older than bibles.
Furthermore, God did not complie a bible, men did 325 years AFTER jesus's so-called life.
No god had anything to do with a bible, ever!

Because you have to abandon EGO to achieve it.
I am of the Christian Faith. I believe ALL science comes from God. Thus, ALL science is good. But, man has been mucking about with it and all of the bad things that have happened from mans misuse of science is man's fault... Not God's
I Know The Word of God can still be decerned from what we today call The Bible. But only with the leading of The Holly Spirit.
There is no inerrent copy of The Bible today. The original texts which were dictated , by God, to the original scribes were inerrent. But all of the original texts were lost well over 1500 years ago
I accept honest question from honest seekers concerning the Christian Faith. Or, you can check me out at:

If you can't stand answers that make you uncomfortable, don't ask the question. Someone saying that you've made ill-informed assumptions or that you've posted a stupid question, is not 'throwing rocks'.
A. Listen to yourself - "...if God created..."
B. Why would you assume that atheists would think some 'God' did anything, much less inspire the content of a bunch of letters and short stories?
C. I hope English isn't your first language

When you start believing things without asking for any sort of evidence, you are opening yourself up to be tricked.
You could just as well ask Christians "What problem do you have with faith in Allah" or the other way around for Muslims.
Faith is believe without evidence/proof. But without proof/evidence, how do you distinguish which claims are true and which are false? Short answer: you can't.

THERE are Three Way's to Walk in FAITH:
1. YOU use the FAITH GOD gave you to use, and bring it to Pass.
2. YOU and GOD work as a TEAM (like FATHER and Son, Daughter) and bring it to PASS.
3. GOD give's you the GIFT of FAITH for a One-Shot Deal, and HE bring's it to PASS through YOU.
NOW, if you learn enough to do it, No. 1 is possible.
If you don't learn quite enough, (GOD will help you) No.2 is possible.
If you don't learn hardly anything, and GOD has Extra-Mercy on you, No.3 is possible. (GOD help's alot of BABY CHRISTIAN's this way)
After you get good at No.1, then GOD want's you to Work with HIM as a TEAM MEMBER, all of the TIME.
Just like in the REAL WORLD growing-up, don't try to do thing's if you not really sure (doubt and unbelief) you can do it, call on the FATHER. HE want's to HELP You, help you GROW.

No, I honestly don't, people were not originally made to die, suffer or anything like that. As you know, Eve sinned when she listened to Satan and ate the forbidden fruit.......since then on, humans have been on a downwards slope, destined for eternal death, but then Jesus came along and brought a second chance for us, this doesnt mean God was bored and decided to get some 'actors' for his own private 'theatre'
