Well, your probably not an unskilled worker who will work for next to nothing. I have talked to quite a few educated people that are upset that they have education and skills to contribute and are being passed over for unskilled people. The diversity lottery doesn't benefit UK, but God only knows why. It doesn't benefit most Asians who need it either. U.S law states that immigration from any one country cannot be more than 30% from one country, yet with illegal immigration combined with "special understandings" between the U.S and Mexico, they receive more than 60% of all immigration to this country. And yet, they are the ones who complain it is too hard to do it right.
Best of luck to you and keep trying.

Don't worry about not being able to participate in the DV lottery, that is just as good a chance as playing the real lotto. It is just hard to immigrate here. I did it, and I had a lawyer and paid plenty of money to file all the right forms. It helps to get married - I kid you not, but you have to make it for real, live together, etc, everything has to jive. Also, finding a job here helps, but that's easier in states like CA where a lot of folks immigrate and the employers know how to deal with INS. UK probably has lower quotas than certain other countries - INS is racist and selective, so you are lucky in a way to be from UK and not from Mexico.

The UK is not included, because the quota has been reached ... seems a bit silly to me, but that's the reason that's given ... you can always do what's so popular these days ... get in on a tourist visa and just stay ... that's what the illegal aliens do here ... all the 12 million of them .... :(

Unless you're from Mexico -it's pretty difficult.(There's a lot more visas available to Mexicans albeit seasonal/guest worker.) The best way is to be hired by an American firm in a specialty area (architecture, engineering) - after two years of residency then you can apply for a Green Card.

Another way is to go to grad school in the U.S. (You can be funded by Fullbright Scholarship) -you're then allowed a grace period after graduation to find employment.

It is hard for the UK to immigrate to the US because you try to do it legally. If you cross the Mexican border, you will have all these pro illegals on your side.

Good question.
I think its all the illegal people in this country. They are coming in illgeally and ruining it for the people who want to follow the law and do things correctly, such as yourself. Good luck!

It's simple: You're NOT Mexican. Only illegals can protest for rights, come into this country illegally, and not be deported!
