The guy I have been seeing has "forgot" to call me twice last week after saying he would. Then over the weekend we had plans with our kids and he basically backed out of them. I did not hear from him for 3 days. I called him today at work to find out the problem and he said his phone was thrown into the pool and he was just so busy with his kids (gets them every other weekend) he just did not get around to contacting me, plus he does not have my number written down anywhere except the destroyed cell phone. Should I give him the benefit of the doubt or am I just setting myself up for more disappointment??

Hmmm, how long have you been seeing him? It really could be a series of coincidences, but if you've been with him for a while and nothing crazy really ever happens. Or if he's been with his children before and could always call you......then he's hiding something. I can't really see how he couldn't remember your phone number unless you just got a new one. I mean you have children together. Shouldn't that number be drilled into his head?

You can confront him and still give him the benefit of the doubt at the same time. Just ask questions.

sorry to say but that sounds like me I keep all my numbers on my cell and if it ever did fall into a pool well forget about it.
I never write down my numbers anymore I tell people to call me and I just save it to my phone book. easy and lazy = (us guys)
also look to see if he got a new phone. if he does then hes did not lie. good luck to you

If a guy's integrity goes against your intuitive instincts, something is wrong. There is no point in having a relationship with someone that constantly (coincidental or not) goes against your sense of honesty with their words. You should first trust and believe in the vaule of yourself before you can have anything substantial with anyone else anyway.

Make sure that u do not give him ur number again. If you can climb mountains and cross seas when you are in love, he could have called you. Close this chapter! He does not seem honest with you!

You should read "He's Just Not That Into You" by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.

Just back off and leave him alone and see how long he waits to get in touch with you.

I won't call him, see if he calls you. He'll get the hint and if he's really interested he'll call you. Kinda like playing hard to get.
