My dad does not want me to have my hair shorter in length! I have long hair.

Layers means shorter hair as you go up. Meaning, the longest layer is always on the bottom and it gets shorter as you go up the head. So yes, layers are shorter than the foundation length

Layering keeps the longest part just as long, but it "Layers" it so it gradually gets longer from the top down. You can ask to get your hair layered or "thinned out" but keep the longest part the same length

long layers doesnt make ur hair shorter only short layers does

no i had long hair and i got layers and i kept just as long.
