I was just wondering how long should a person wait before starting another relationship after a break up with someone they really love. I want to get an idea because I dont want to start a relatioonship with someone if I cant commite all my love to them so I like to know how much time you guys gave inbetween relatioonships to get out of the withdrawal.

I dont know. It is different for everybody.
One suggestion, make sure that you are over this person before you get with someone else or if you get with someone else, and then see the other person and feel you want them back, just keep walking!!!! This will be easier for all parties involved and can be the begining of a drama free life.

First of all - why are you breaking up with someone you say you really love ?!?????!??!?
Unless she has done something unforgivable - of you are just being lame and weak then stop....
Otherwise read on.

you should wait three times the length of the relationship - so for you it means in 9 years....

By then you will have waited long enough for you to know that you don't need her and that she doesn't love you anymore because she will be married to boyfriend number 13 after you with at least 2 kids.

Dude - get laid asap! Don't get a gf straight away!!! Maybe a nice
'short ter' gf for max 1 month - for sex and hanging out...

Serious relationship in about 6-8 months...if you still aren't enjoying the casual stuff...

Good luck

My mother and most counselors suggest a year. However, as one who's got great talent for rebound relationships (and this one must be successful because I've been at it for 5 years now) your best bet is to wait until you reach a point where when someone says he name you don't feel anything other than a healthy friendly caring type feeling or indifference. That's always been a really good indicator for me that I had truly moved past that relationship.

There is no set amount of time you should wait, If you feel comfortable dating go for it, if not wait for a while, everone is different, I got divorced and had a girlfriend the next day, but I hated my ex-wife.
