I think you'll find that most atheists have something in common. We're not "looking" for anything. As far as we're concerned, we have the answers. We have peace. We have love. We're pretty well off. The idea that we're "searching for god" or "searching for something" is just misinformation.

Peace would probably be easier without religious fanatics, Christian, Mulim or otherwise. Also If people could see past there stupid little hangups, and get over themselves and realize that all people are different and have different views of the world, this might help too. Not to mention that a vast majority of wars and non-peaceful activity come in the name of GOD. It is a sad day when God tells an abortion activist to kill a doctor or blow up a clinic, but nobody can get upset because they are doing GOD's work. What a bunch of bull.

It would really help if people could treat each other decently. You know, let somebody in front of you in traffic, help out with a difficult task, not be so self-centered all the time, maybe even listen once in a while. It seems like many people who call themselves "Christian" do not behave in a manner consistent with biblical teachings (I've read the Bible twice-just trying to make some sense of it). Maybe if everyone acted more like atheists who, at the end of the day, get no otherworldly forgiveness for past transgressions and have to live with themselves.

Personally, I think we're born with peace, love, and wisdom. We just tend to forget it over the years, as our minds become clouded by the material things in life, and certain other "unhealthy" experiences.

Basically, we tend to get confused. So the key to finding peace, is to figure out which things don't make sense, and eliminate them from your thoughts. Once you get all of that nonsense out of your head, you'll tend to see things the way you did in the beginning... like a child. (Sound familiar? Achieving the spiritual bliss of childhood does not require a "god")

If organized religion and all political parties ceased to exist I'd have peace.

Love of humankind. Love of the people in my life worthy of it. Hope in the future of the world. Comfort in the knowledge that I'm not chasing a hopeless goal.

I'm not looking for those things; I have them.

Everything...people...flowers...and loving family.
Why? Do you think we get peace from destroying countries or bombing religious people?
