You can be 17, but you need a waiver signed by your legal guardian. As far as benefit packages, why not contact your local recruiter, or if you don't want to get sucked into that little world (recruiters can be pretty pushy) you can try going to a website like www.goarmy.com they have open forum chats with live recruiters there.

Yes, you can join the military at 17. A parent or legal guardian will have to sign a waiver for you. My son just graduated from high school and he's been in the Guard over a year. Contact a recruiter for the benefits package. Enlistment bonuses vary depending on the MOS (Military Occupational Specialty, i.e. job) you choose. Your length of enlistment also varies depending on the branch of service. Good luck to you.

YES! at 17 you can join. However you have to have your parents sign a paper that lets you join. Your local recruiter can supply this for you. And for the second part of your ? you have to serve 4 years. The benifits are great. Free food, lodging, college and much more. However it does come at a price. You loss a lot of your freedom. But i do remeber some program that lets you serve 2 years i just dont know the conditions. Again ask a recruiter. I would ask a couple and see if you get the same answer from all of them! Hoorah!!!

you need a waiver from your parents and the package is different, depends what you want to do. also you have to sign up for a minimum of 4yrs, you cant go for 1 1/2yrs or 2, you have the choice of 4 or 6, then you have 2 years after getting out that they can call you back in if needed

Have you finished high school? I don't know of any branch that takes anyone without a high school diploma or GED. If you have then your father if he is living can sign for you to go in at 17.
