There is solid proof of evolution. Everything comes down to faith, obviously you have it, and I don't. What's the problem??? Everyone complains about athiests, but it is really the faithful that try to push their religion on everyone else.

No one was a monkey once, that is just ignorance and a misunderstanding of evolution. Most scientists believe that primates may have had a common ancestor, but that is a world away from us being a monkey.
My sitting here does not prove anything. I know I am sitting here and I am self aware. I like everyone else do not know exactly how I came to be here, but that does not mean that God exists. Simply because humans don't know everything doesn't mean that God exists. Check out the web site for more details, it has a lot of interesting thought on the subject.

Ohmigosh! I ask people this all the time. When I was pregnant, I could feel my baby move and I'd ask my friend "How can people not believe in God? We are so complex. It just doesn't make any sense that we just poofed." I mean, yeah, evolution is real. But not people coming from monkeys. If that were true, why are there still monkeys? Why aren't monkeys still changing into people? Evolution is real in that people and animals will undergo small changes to help them survive in the area of the world they live in. Like, Mexicans have darker skin because of the way the sun shines down there. White people would get blistered within a few hours of being down there. Stuff like that is normal and understandable. But people coming from monkeys? Come on, people!!!!!

We live in a society that wants facts and wants them fast. Actually having faith in something that you cannot see or touch is asking a lot for some. Cultures through out history have had many different Gods, just like today. Some of the past religions have been moved to myth, because no one was left to keep believing, or through time it was proven to be false. Roman religion in Zeus and the others comes to mind.
It is easier to say there is no God then that there is a God. If there is a God, then that means consequences. It is easier to be in denial, that way you can throw rocks at others and feel good about yourself in doing so.

I was never a monkey, although ancestors of mine about 500,000 + years ago probably were. Thing is, it was the same for your ancestors. Do you really think we all came from the same two people (adam & eve), because then we would all be cousins, which I guess could explain some of the messed up people in this crazy world of ours. Oh yeah, and to answer the real question, God is a myth if you do not have faith, but with faith all things are possible...I suppose.

Just because you believe He's a myth doesn't mean you believe in creationism. You seem like a very close-minded person... there's more options than just God or monkeys.

God is a myth because all proof of his existance comes from a book of myths.
As far as ever having a monkey, I think I may have evolved from the ape family.

There are 100 different religions in this world, and each one says that the Gods of the other 99 are a myth. So there is a 99% chance that the God of any particular religion is a myth.

I would really like to know where you all get these ideas. That if they don't believe in Your God then they MUST believe we come from monkeys (By the way, Evolution doesn't say we come from monkeys... it says we had a common ancestor at one time... please take a look at neanderthal and then tell me there wasn't something messed up).
I believe the Goddess made everything... your god is the myth. (See how easy that is??)

A belief that I hold is that gods were created to (a.) explain the unexplainable, and to (b.) create a method for early rulers to control the masses. If you were promised an eternally enjoyable afterlife for following a certain set of rules for, at the time, forty or so years, you would do that. But now that we have explanations for what we knew nothing of before, the idea of an ever powerful God has become obsolete. Don't get me wrong, if religion can help millionis of people be morally correct, it is definitely a positive aspect of humanity

A simple cut on your finger proves the theory of evolution, that the human body adapts to conditions that are presented to it. Another is the human body acclimatizing to the temperature of its surroundings, another is the melatonin count in people's skin due to the amount of sunlight they are exposed to, height differences. Different species of animals.
God isn't a myth, he's a religious icon that you choose to believe in, some people don't. Just relax and be a good person, as opposed to an angry, forceful, opinionated one.
God wouldn't like it.
