I think it has to do with domaince-they think you are trying to be the alpha dog.

Because when you blow in their face you are right in front of them and they feel your invading their space so its causing a threat to them. With sticking their head out the window no one is right there just the air.

I like cool wind blowing around my face, especially when it's warm out, but I don't like having someone come over and blow in my face.

I imagine a dog just happens to feel similarly.

I would think that they are interested in all the new smells they receive when you go down the road. And when you blow in their face, well, would you like it? Come on now.

You must have hot, bad breath. Air from a window is cooler and smells better.

I've wondered that for years, but someone told me one time that it has something to do with all the diffrent smells from the outdoors, and not a smell they already know. That's what I was told, but you be the judge.

My dogs never got mad but they would get all frisky and want to play.
