Dogs can lose their fur for several reasons. It can be a reaction to their collar, it can be food allergies, outdoor allergies, it can be flea or tick related, there are skin infections, mange, etc. The only way to tell is to bring your dog to your vet. They will determine what is causing it and give you the best treatment to take care of it. Please don't listen to any home remedies you get online. Call your vet.

My dog lost it's hair every summer, and the vet told me it was allergies. That just to keep it from getting a bad sunburn. The allergies were fleas, and grass. The worst part was she was an outside dog and would not come in the house, no matter how hard we tried to make her one.

Give your dog (1) people allergy pill (like benadryll)... I get the cheap kind from the dollar store-- per day. That helps w/ shedding and seasonal allergies. My vet reccommended it. It works well if u roll the pill up in cheese... the dog will eat it w/ no problem.
My dog weighs about 65lbs and I give him one pill in the morning and one in the evening... so start w/ one and give more depending on the severity and how much your dog weighs...
Good Luck!
