Sigma DG lenses have a coating on the glass elements that are "enhanced" for digital cameras to reduce flare and ghosting. They can be used on film and digital SLRs.
Sigma DC lenses are designed for digital SLRs only. They produce an image fitted to the smaller-sized sensors (APS size).
