Italian Greyhound are kinda high maintance, But are neat little dogs, They can be hard to housebreak..Like the big greyhounds theyy have no bodyfat so you have to keep them in a climate control situation...The Full Sized Greyhounds are Awesome..I have two and have owned them in the past...They are wonderful, clean, loving couch potatos,They are not nuerotic at all..Ask any Grey Owner..Not just someone who worked in a Shelter with them! They are sight hounds and need to be kept on lead or in a fenced are like any sight hound ..But they are wonderful pets...If the IG's are much like the big guys they are worth it!

Have never owned a Greyhound, but I have worked in an animal shelter that had both Greyhounds and Whippets.
If they were humans they would be in therapy all the time. Nice dogs, but very nervous, very skittish. Most Greyhounds need to be muzzled when outdoors/walking because if it moves, they want to catch it (which is why they are so good for racing).
Having said all that, if you have the time and patience for a neurotic four-legged friend, go for it.

I found a puppy IG and it was such a cool dog. I looked all over for the owner and when i though they couldn't be found I decided to keep him. Went to the pet store after 3 weeks to get him a leash and found the owner. It was a very cool dog and I plan to get another one. Very sweet and active intelligent dogs.

My good friend has one, sweet as can be, but he likes to mark his territory alot Inside and outside. He also is very high energy and because the breed has no fat on them and so little fur they need to wear coats in the winter.

They're prone to epilepsy and psychotic disorders. I say NO WAY.
