if property or not, as a western foreigner you can stay as long as you like. all what you have to do is renew your tourist visa every year. be aware, that you can't work with it. to get a workpermit visa is difficult, as it has to be proven, that no egyptian can do this job instead of you. only possible if you work for a foreign company or in special tourism.

depends on what kind of place I have ..plus Americans are not beloved in Egypt..so it would depend on safety as well..
