All these questions have the potential to help anyone. I have no idea what is helpful and what is not.
It's up to the reader to help themselves not me to inflict help upon their heads.
It is a very elitist position to attempt to know what is good for another.

I have been involved with Yahoo Answers for a short length of time. In that time I have discovered each of the categories and subcategories have a narrow range of 'regular' participants. Some have open minded, less 'agenda' oriented participants. Others seem intent only on pushing their stringent set of morals, norms, and values on the rest of the world. While other seemingly less important questions, ie: what's the best hair color for my skin type?' receive mockery and the wrath of frustrated sarcastic individuals.
Still there are many in here who truly enjoy researching helpful questions and hope to find an answer/best fit solution to problems and issues.
I believe that as this Q&A forum grows, adapts and changes, it will become a better source for information. We all have the opportunity to seek out only the questions and answers that provide the opportunity to learn and grow as humans and individuals. Sometimes, I seek out questions that are vile and outrageous simply to practice self-control and rationale in the face of mean spirited adversity. In all honesty I have a long way to go!

It looks to me like most of the questions are being asked by immature people. There are good questions being asked, but they are in the minority. Just sift through them and you will find some good ones.

The answers are not helpful, anyone with a real question is quickly turned off

The reality of Yahoo! Answers: great concept, but it's primarily just a personals/chat site.

I think you see both--helpful questions, and stupid ones. If you dig deeper into the various categories, I think you will learn a lot. I know I have!

i think they do, sometimes. i had a real question and most all who answered were very kind and sincere. but it would be too sad asking serious questions all day long.
