I had a dream the my father and I, my father passed in 2001, were in a chinese weapons shop seaching for swords. The man running the shop was rude most of the time and would not show us most of what he had until I told him what I was going to do with the weapons. I told him I was going to hunt zombies. He showed me an impressive set of daggers with interchangable blades after that. My father was paying for these and asked me if this was what I wanted. I told him that these probably would save my life. I asked the man about body armor next and then I woke up. Odd dream, anyone have any thought on it?

Of course I have thoughts. Most dreams are metaphors for something else. Think about if you have some problems in life right now, like school, relationship, maybe you are battling emotional problems, whatever. The zombies can represent what that problem is, the clerk represents how commited you are to fighting the problem (or finding a solution). Only when you tell him that you need tools to solve the problem does he give you his full attention. Not only is he nice to you now, but he shows you several different tools to fight your problem effectively.

Your father is there paying for it because at one time or another during your life with him, he has helped solve your problems, or you were able to solve your own problems based on his reactions or how he'd react. Your dad is playing a crucial part in solving this problem.

This is by far the interesting part though. The closest that healthy humans can come to being dead is when we are asleep. The sleeping state is the middle ground between being dead, and being alive. I believe that this is when we are able to recieve the best messages from our gaurdian angels or ancestors that are looking over us. Your father is actually there in your dream from the afterlife offering to help you. Since you can't communicate with him directly about what your REAL problem is (because you are still a living being), him and your brain for some reason choose this chinese weapons shop and zombies to represent your life's problems.

My advice to you from the info you gave in this dream is that you already know what your problem is, but you don't have the tools you need to find a solution. Your dad's angel spirit is here to help you find the tools. The fact that you need body armor means that when you try to fight to find a solution, you may become hurt in some way emotionally during the process. Your strong state of mind at the time (your body armor & your tools) may help you deflect becoming hurt. You wake up during the middle of the dream because you aren't ready to solve your problem. The thing that sucks is that you'll have to determine for yourself when you are ready...

Sounds like you have a vivid imagination. Were there any colors that really stood out in the dream? Do you like to watch zombie movies or is that something you ever did with your father? It's hard telling what it could be other than your mind is going through your thoughts of the past and combined them together.

What a clear and explicit dream!

Psychologists today prefer to question you about the meaning of the symbolism in your dreams.

So, I think the main theme of this dream is to decide what is it that you are facing in reality that you need to defend yourself against. who are the zombies, what threat could they represent. I think it shows really good character that you are looking for a way to successfully defend yourself rather than falling victim to the zombies.

Maybe the Chinese guy in your dream is the part of you who needs to distinguish what the threat actually is. Then once you enunciated that, the weapons became available.

What part of you does your father represent. they say that characters in dreams are all aspects of the personality of the dreamer.

your father in your dream can represent protection and authority. You need to be more self reliant. Daggers indicate your need to defend yourself emotionally and/or physically. Zombies mean you are physically or emotionally detached from people or situations around you. Or you may feel dead inside. You must be going through a rough patch.

yeah, your brain was releasing old stored info it no longer needed. Probably some repressed memories about your lost father and some crap you saw on TV. Dreams mean nothing, they are simply a function of the brain resting and restoring.
