FOR THE DOG: I have used frontline and its ok, but the fleas will live for a while. REVOLUTION however keeps the fleas and ticks away. They dont stick around long enough to bite my dog.

FOR THE HOUSE: I used a homemade flea trap. In the infested area, turn out all lights at night. Make the room as cool at possible. Place a nite lite on an open wall. Under the light place a paper plate with light colored dish soap. The fleas are attracted to the warmth of the light then fall and get trapped in the dish soap. When the soap dries out toss it. Keep replacing the plate till the fleas are gone.

OK I think it has been infested (there nothing you can do at home)
Take it to the vet for flea removal on only know groom or nail cutting unless it goes with the price...OK while your little darlin is at the vets, go get a flea bomb....to get rid of the fleas hiding in carpet and the eggs also..fleas can make dogs sick they care all kind of parasite....... best of luck to you p.s. if you continue to give it flea bath at home you really can out dry their skin..then they will get them all over again from the carpet and its favorite place to lay.
and make sure you get some front line.

If you wash the dog in a solution of vinegar and soap, the fleas will vanish almost instantly. This is also cheaper than special shampoo. Take care and give you pomchi a big hug for me, mate!

Treat the yard FIRST. Next set off RAID FUMIGATORS in the house. These come 3 to a package and place one canister in each room of your house. Remove all living things like plants animals, birds, cats ,dogs and even fish. Any open foods should be placed in the refrigerator. Take pochi and yourself to the groomer for a fleaa bath. When you get home after 3 hours, open the windows and air the place out before bringing animals back in. After 3 days apply Advantage or one of the other once a month fle and tick killers to your dog and you should be good to go.

get advantage. it is a once a month application, and not only does it kill the flees, but it also kills the eggs, and all the eggs and fleas where the dog lays down at. Very good stuff. It costs about $50 for 4 months supply, but it is worth it. Kills 99% of the fleas.

The obvious flea dip and flea meds, but also make sure to wash everything that may have been contaminated. Make sure to vaccuum really well, because fleas live 90% of their lives in the carpet. My vet recommened cutting up a flea collar and putting it in the vaccuum bag. Good Luck. It's a pain.

In addition to giving them a flea bath, then putting the little drops on its back. Buy some Borax, You can find it in the laundry detergent isle. sprinkle it like carpet freshener on your carpets and furniture...let it sit and vacuum. It will kill any flea eggs that hatch later on. I use it once a year just before summer...never have any flea problems on my pets. In fact I hardly ever find fleas on them.
